Mental Health Resources During COVID-19

You’re not alone right now. As much as we may feel isolated as we’re physically distanced from each other, we’re all going through this struggle. COVID-19 has taken so much from us, but there are still people working in our community to help during these scary times.

In the St. Louis are and around the country, there are resources you can use to help get you through these troubled times. Now more than ever, it’s important to reach out if you’re struggling. We’re living through a community trauma we never could have imagined before, and we all have to take care of ourselves. The following resources are available if you need help:

  • CHADS Tele-Behavioral Health: As soon as this crisis began, we knew we had to do everything possible to continue providing our service. Tele-Behavioral Health is our way of moving CHADS Family Support counseling services online. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please call us at 314-952-8274.

  • BHR: As one of St. Louis’ largest providers of mental health services, BHR is still operating 24-hour emergency services. You can contact them any time of day at 314-469-6644.

  • Provident Crisis Line: Like BHR, Provident offers a 24/7 crisis line that you can call if you or a loved one need immediate help with thoughts of suicide. You can reach them at 314-647-4357.

  • NAMI St. Louis: Our friends at NAMI are offering a wealth of resources, including online support groups and community conversations. You can learn more at namistl.org.

  • United Way 2-1-1: The network of agencies supported by United Way can support most needs. You can reach them 24 hours a day by dialing 2-1-1

  • National Suicide Prevention Hotline: If you or someone you know are having thoughts of suicide, the Suicide Prevention Hotline is available 24/7 to help you through your crisis. You can reach them at 1-800-273-8255.

  • Crisis Text Line: Text ACT to 741-741. This service is just like the Suicide Prevention Hotline, but it is text-based instead of a phone call.

  • MindWise ACT at Home: Our partners at MindWise have a collection of exercises to help reduce stress, as well as a number of other resources available to help you navigate COVID-19.

No matter which organization you connect with, if you or a loved one are struggling during this time of crisis, it’s crucial to reach out and ask for help. There are kind, compassionate professionals throughout our community who can help you through COVID-19 and what lies beyond.
