Post-Crisis Intervention (Postvention)
A death is always tragic. When suicide or trauma is the cause, it is a tragedy that affects not only the family, but the community as well. CHADS stands ready to lend a hand to your school and community as they navigate the difficult days that lie ahead. Hope. Help. Heal. We will be with you every step of the way.
Post-Crisis Intervention (Postvention) is designed to provide services following a suicide or trauma death for students, school staff and community members as well as family and close friends.
As a team, the CHADS’ staff will come into a community and/or school to offer an evidenced-based response which can include but are not limited to the following: determining whether or not there is a need for our Post-Crisis Intervention services; facilitating workshops for parents, organizations and local service providers so that a coordinated response can be crafted; provide appropriate memorializing of the deceased; assessing faculty and students, individually or in small groups, to provide the knowledge and skills to support healthy grieving are just a few of the services your school and/or community can access.
