Volunteer with CHADS Coalition
A staggering number of teens suffers from depression
– one in eight! CHADS volunteers work to
erase the stigma of depression, raise funds for
research, and educate the community on warning
signs of teen depression.
CHADS Coalition gives anyone the chance to be
part of the solution by volunteering. For suicide
survivors, working with CHADS is an important
part of their grieving and healing process. For
those with a friend or family member suffering
from depression, it is rewarding to help find
a cure. And teens can earn community service hours
working on a problem that affects their peers.
CHADS
volunteers have said,
“Putting my efforts into trying to
make this world a better place as a result of
my son’s death is VERY therapeutic for me.”
“Some of my family members suffer from
depression, and although my children are healthy
now, I want community support and research to
be in place should my children become ill.”
“A girl at my school died by suicide
last year and it was so awful. I don’t want
something like that to ever happen again.”
CHADS Coalition is staffed entirely by volunteers
– young & old, women & men. You
can:
* Help plan an event, such as KIDS WALKING FOR
KIDS or the 5k race
* Volunteer at an event
* Be trained to deliver ‘Signs of Suicide’
presentations at area schools
* Schedule speaking engagements for CHADS’
directors
* Provide administrative support in the office
CHADS Coalition would greatly appreciate your
