EYES - Every Year, Every Student
SOS Review & Timely Topic
After students have completed the SOS Signs of Suicide® Prevention Program, they are eligible to receive additional presentations. EYES - Every Year, Every Student presentations address bullying, peer pressure and self-injury in order to promote mental health for middle school students.
The following order for scheduling these presentations is suggested: 6th grade: Bully Free; 7th grade: Peer Pressure and 8th grade: Self-Injury; but feel free to request presentations at any middle school grade level in order to address the direct needs of your students. Usually offered at *no cost, all presentations align with Missouri’s Guidance GLEs and HPEs Show-Me Standards.
6th Grade Bully Free: SOS review then exploration of the direct and indirect forms of bullying as well as effective strategies for reducing bullying will empower students to “do the right thing” before, during and after school.
7th Grade Peer Pressure: SOS review then discussion and activities that explore positive and negative types of peer pressure as well as effective use of “refusal” skills to use to avoid negative situations.
8th Grade Self-Injury: SOS review then discussion and activities that help them identify stress factors and steps to take to avoid self-injury which have a negative effect on our bodies as well as our mental health.
